China Becomes the Largest Exporter of Mechanical
According to the statistics of Japan’s Machinery Import and Export
Organization, China will surpass Germany in 2008 becoming the world’s largest
exporter of mechanical and electrical products. In 2008, China’s export
amount on machinery and electrical products was JPY78.4781t, up by 3.5%
year-on-year, and that of Germany was JPY78.4659t, down 4.1%
year-on-year. With the downturn of global economy, the world’s auto exports
fell to the lowest point, with the exception of China’s electronic products such
as computers and mobile phones continued to maintain a high growth. Especially
the televisions and mobile phones was with the absolute cost
advantages. China’s largest export destination for mechanical and electrical
products is Europe and Hong Kong China, accounting for 21.7% and 18.3%
respectively of the total exports.
It was reported that the auto giants of
the US, Europe and Japan would take China as the export base. And China’s
influence was increasingly enhanced.
